With a sincere love for all things glam and beauty, Keana grew frustrated with the limited options available for her complexion and unique skin and haircare needs.

 

She noticed that she was not alone in this and that many others within the Black and melanated community felt the same way. 

​

Realizing that the problem was that the majority of beauty products were created by people that lacked the understanding of the distinctive needs of melanated beauties, she wanted to establish an effective way to bring awareness to as many quality Black-owned beauty brands as possible while making them easily accessible for those interested in products that were specifically made for them.

 

With Black-owned beauty brands representing less than 3% of the beauty industry's revenue, she also realized just how challenging it was to find a healthy amount of Black beauty brands in major retail stores on top of receiving the support she needed from retail store employees due to the overall lack of Black representation within the beauty industry.

She decided to combine her passion for beauty with her plethora of experience in sales and marketing.

 

 Thus, she established BlaqBeaut - a platform and global marketplace that seamlessly connects beauties to quality Black-owned beauty brands with their special needs in mind, while offering the best value for bundled beauty products and discounted standalone products!
